Bennet Group Strategic Communications, one of Hawaiʻi’s top public relations agencies, today announced the promotion of Christine Matsuda Smith to senior vice president and the addition of Angela Moy, writer and content strategist, and Rickie Fujinami, executive assistant.

Christine’s extensive background includes in-depth media relations work across the Pacific Rim, issues management across the state of Hawaiʻi and strategic planning for a suite of Bennet Group’s clients in the education, development and land use management areas for clients such as Maunakea Observatories, Kamehameha Schools and Polynesian Voyaging Society. Christine is a seasoned communications professional who excels at finding elegant solutions to complex strategic challenges.

In her new role at the helm of the firm, Christine will oversee every aspect of the business, including client service, business development, human resources and operations. Christine was previously the vice president at the agency, having joined Bennet Group almost a decade ago. Prior to joining the firm worked with both Hawaiʻi Foodbank, Washington, D.C.-based Share Our Strength and Bon Appetit Magazine in Los Angeles. Her extensive background in nonprofit communications has honed her ability to clearly articulate the social, economic, and academic impact of initiatives and events.


Bennet Group has also added two new members to its dynamic communications team, growing the team and increasing capabilities. Angela Moy joins the firm as a writer and content strategist after a long career in writing, entrepreneurship and the arts. She brings an intelligent and informed writing style to the firm’s clients. Born and raised in Honolulu, Angela is an alumna of Iolani School and holds a bachelor of arts in dance from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

Rickie Fujinami comes to the agency as an executive assistant, previously with the University of Hawaiʻi West Oahu. She brings over a decade of administrative and managerial support to the Bennet Group, supporting the team in its mission to provide high-level service to clients. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Rickie has resided in Hawaiʻi for over a decade and is passionate about contributing to the growth and sustainability of the place she now calls home.
