Pono Suganuma joins Bennet Group with valuable experience in broadcast news, public affairs, event coordination, multimedia content creation, and social media. Pono helps clients to craft compelling stories to capture the attention of key stakeholders and the media, market themselves through creative content strategies and implementation, and navigate the complex legislative process.
Prior to joining Bennet Group, Pono served as a Legislative Aide for Hawaiʻi State Representative Nicole Lowen, whom she supported by drafting government resolutions, certificates, and constituent communication materials. She also worked as a Digital Content Producer for Hawaiʻi News Now, where she produced a variety of high-performing multimedia content for its digital and social platforms.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Pono is a proud Kamehameha Schools Kapālama alumna. She earned her bachelorʻs degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and Corporate Communications and a minor in International Relations from Utah State University. During her time at Utah State, Pono served as an ambassador for the university, completed an Honors undergraduate thesis project, and was a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and the Polynesian Student Union. In her free time, Pono enjoys diving for seashells off Oahuʻs shores, drinking vanilla milkshakes, and going to the library to select a new stack of books to read.
