Joan Bennet founded the Bennet Group – a full-service strategic communications company in Hawai‘i – 22 years ago following a successful career in public affairs, issues management, environmental and public policy communications in California, Australia and Hawai‘i. Joan has cultivated relationships with top business, government, community, native Hawaiian and media leaders, and has managed award-winning campaigns for an impressive array of top companies and organizations in Hawai‘i and throughout the mainland US.
Joan has assembled a renowned, all-woman team comprised of Hawai‘i’s most talented communications professionals. The company is consistently sought out to handle – and deliver results – for the toughest, complex and most sensitive issues facing our community. Under her leadership, the Bennet Group is widely regarded as one of the most community-minded small businesses in the state, giving thousands of hours of pro-bono communications counsel to a myriad of charities and social issues.
Joan provides pro-bono strategic communications counsel to a number of local charities, and served as a mentor to Sacred Hearts’ Girls Got Grit leadership initiative. Her passions include Hawaiian canoe paddling and trekking to high-altitude mountains around the world.
